SHNU: On October 20, Zheng Shiling, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and PhD supervisor Tongji University, delivered a lecture entitled “Architecture and Sculpture” in SHNU. The lecture focused on the combination of sculpture and architectural art. Zheng talked about the functions of architecture, and esthetics, politics and cultural connotations that are related to the subject. He also expounded the forms of architecture, relationship between architecture and life as well as how architecture serves the environmental protection. “From the lecture, we learn how to find materials for creation, renew creation concepts and realize the epochal character of architectural works”, the audience said. Zheng also encouraged the students to widen their vision and improve their works with constant practice. (Edited by Jessica)
