SHNU: Ding Guo, a well-known political commentator of Canada and also SHNU alumnus, delivered a lecture entitled Image Project of China and Western Media in SHNU on Sept. 21. Ding once studied in the History Department of SHNU and is now the news producer of Canadian Multi-culture TV Station. He holds other titles such as commentator, editor or copywriter in famous newspapers and magazines like World Journal, Financial Times and Asia Weekly. In his lecture, Ding analyzed the so called China Threat Theory and expressed his opinion on how China should respond to some negative reports by western media. He believed that overseas Chinese media can be served as a platform between the east and west. In view of this, China should manage to disseminate soft power through overseas Chinese entrepreneurs. （Edited by Jessica）
