SHNU: On September 16th, 2009 International Symposium on Successful Education Systems for a Changing World: Monitoring and Evaluating the Effectiveness of Education Systems was held in SHNU. It was sponsored by IIEP （the International Institute for Educational Planning），UNESCO, and Shanghai Academy of Educational Sciences. The Symposium was also attended by vice mayor of Shanghai, vice dean of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, and head of China National Commission for UNESCO. The conference shall last 4 days during which three themes will be discussed concerning the effectiveness of education systems, innovation for better operations and factors that impede the process of education administration. Over 40 representatives from 17 countries and 5 international organizations attended the conference with a dozen of attendants from both Beijing and Shanghai. . (Editted by Rebecca)
