700 International Students from 38 Countries Start Study Life in SHNU

SHNU: The 2009 New-term Beginning Ceremony for SHNU International Students was held on September 3. SHNU Vice President Lu Jianfei attended the ceremony. Also present were leaders from SHNU International College of Chinese Studies, and Humanities and Communications College.
    Mr. Lu delivered a warm welcome speech to the new comers on behalf of the university. He encouraged them to study hard so that they can contribute to the Sino-foreign cultural exchange and friendly relations. Representatives of SHNU teachers and new students spoke to swap ideas and feelings.
    This year SHNU has another 13 students who have reveived the National Scholarship from China’s Ministry of Education. Besides, 9 international students have been awarded Confucius Institute Scholarship.
    So far, 690 students from 38 countries have applied to study in SHNU, among which 13 are doctoral candidates, 22 postgraduates, 113 undergraduates and 545 language students.
