International Symposium on Urban Development and Culture Preservation Held in Canada

SHNU: From August 18 to 19, an international symposium themed Urban Development Culture
Preservation was held by SHNU Research Center for Urban Culture and Canadian Research Center
for Culture Renewal in Simon Fraser University, Vancouver. Over 50 scholars from different
universities and organizations attended the symposium.
    The scholars focused their attention on how to protect the cultural heritage in cultural
development, and probed into such topics as urban memory through the change of history;
urban development: strategy, choice and comparison; globalization and cultural heritage;
urban culture in diversified development. 
    A summit forum was also held to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the publication of Culture
China.
