SHNU: On June 22nd, a farewell party was held for SHNU students volunteers who shall set for China’s destitute west and work there for a couple of years. The party was attended by 9 volunteers to help lift China’s west out of poverty, and 6 postgraduates for voluntary teaching.
Volunteer representatives were invited make speeches and swear to their alma mater to complete the mission. The two teams of volunteers shall head for their destinations in July and August respectively. Among them, 6 shall teach in Yunnan Province, 3 serve in Tibet, Chongqing city, and Sichuan Province, and 6 postgraduates shall teach in Tianyang County of Guangxi Province after training.
