International Conference of Identity and Intercultural Communication Held in SHNU

    On December 28th, an international conference of Identify and Intercultural Communication started in SHNU, which was attended by over 170 scholars home an abroad to discuss the following topics: theories of intercultural communication, intercultural interpretation of literature, cultural transference of translation in intercultural communication, and intercultural approach to foreign language teaching. 
    The opening ceremony was attended, among others, by SHNU Vice President Lu Jianfei who also delivered an opening speech.
More than 120 précis of different speakers have been received, yet only 18 were lucky enough to make a keynote speech, and over 50 were arranged into 13 groups for discussion. The conference offers a valuable opportunity for scholars in linguistics, sociology, communications and literature, etc., to voice their academic views, which is supposed to shore up the role SHNU plays in intercultural communication in the development of Shanghai and China at large.
     The conference will last for two days.
