Vice President of Kenyatta University (KU) Visits to Deepen University Collaboration

On the morning of November 3rd, Professor Caroline Lang'at Thoruwa, Vice Chancellor of Kenyatta University (KU), led a delegation to visit SHNU. The delegation included Professor Mildred P. Nawiri, the university's Academic Registrar, and Professor Zhou Xiaodong, the Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute. Vice President of SHNU Jiang Mingjun extended a warm welcome to the delegation on behalf of SHNU. Representatives from the International Exchange Office, the School of Education, and the UNESCO International Centre for Teacher Education participated in the discussions. The two parties held in-depth talks on deepening cooperation between the universities and expanding educational exchange initiatives.  Jiang Mingjun expressed that SHNU has consistently and actively engaged in the global higher education network, cultivating a large number of educational talents for primary and secondary schools in Shanghai. The university has established the International Centre for Teacher Education and hosted multiple international teacher training programs.

Caroline Lang'at Thoruwa provided a detailed overview of Kenyatta University (KU), mentioning that the university has established collaborations with over 50 countries and more than 400 universities and institutions. Vice President of KU Caroline Lang'at Thoruwa noted that KU has already laid a solid foundation for cooperation with our university and expressed hope that this visit would lead to deeper collaboration on new pathways for educational internationalization, advancing cooperation to a higher level. Subsequently, both parties reached a consensus on jointly establishing a workstation, with further efforts to deepen collaboration in areas such as faculty and student exchanges, teacher education, African studies, STEM education, agriculture, and architecture.
