SHNU: The New Year’s Party of ICCS (International College of Chinese Studies of SHNU)was held on December 17. SHNU Vice President Lu Jianfei was invited to the party. Also present were Prof. Qi Huyang, Dean of ICCS, and teachers and students both from home and abroad. The party interpreted the four seasons of the year with dancing, singing and other forms of performances. It interweaved eastern elements with western ones: Chinese Kongfu struck its pose and King Lear lamented the death of Cordelia. The most impressive were performances by international students: wearing Tang suits with traditional Chinese musical instruments in hands, they expressed love for China to the top of their bent. They made every effort to sing in Chinese, although not that articulate. Lu awarded the prizes from the lucky draw to the audience, which drove the party to its climax. The party ended with the well-known melody Today is a Good Day, extolling the amity among friends, indicating the bright future of SHNU. In 2010, there are over 1,600 international students from 45 countries in the world studying Chinese in ICCS. (Reported by Deng Yingjie) |
