SHNU:The 5th National Conference of Confucius Institute was held in Beijing National Conference Center. Lu Jianfei, SHNU Vice President, and Fang Xujun, the Dean of Botswana Confucius Institute on China’s part, were invited to attend the conference.
Chen Zhilu, a teacher of Botswana Confucius Institute, was awarded Outstanding Individual Prize.
About 1,400 university presidents and representatives of Confucius Institutes attended the meeting, and they exchanged experiences of working for Confucius Institutes in the last 5 years, as well as ideas concerning further cooperation and how to improve the quality of education.
In recent years, 322 Confucius Institutes and 369 Confucius classrooms have been established in 96 countries and regions, among which 303 of the former and 265 of the latter are now in operation.
