In November 25, at the meeting for summarizing and commending outstanding collectives and individuals who actively participated in the Expo Bilingual Learning program, the Language Affairs Committee of SHNU was honored as “the Best Organization”, and Wu Aihui from SHNU Academic Affairs Office was conferred “Outstanding Individual Award”. Altogether 116 advanced collectives and 100 outstanding individuals were awarded .
The “Learning Foreign Languages to Welcome Expo” program was jointly organized by 12 government departments and media agencies including the City Civilization Office, Shanghai Expo Bureau, Shanghai Municipal Education Commission and so on. And SHNU was awarded for its continuous efforts in promoting the training and testing of Putonghua as well as its excellent achievements in this program.
More than 300 SHNU students served as language volunteers in the Expo. They have made great contributions to creating a good language environment at the Expo site.
