SHNU: The World Expo and Urban Development International Conference was held in SHNU on October 28 and 29. Over 70 scholars and experts from the U.S., Canada, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Mainland China attended the conference. Leaders from Shanghai Municipal Government, Culture Regeneration Research Society of Canada spoke at the conference. SHNU Vice President Li Jin delivered a welcome speech. The conference received 38 pieces of academic papers, the attendants probed into such issues as effect of Expo and humanistic consideration, Expo and urban development, Expo experience and urban media, opportunity brought about by the Expo and folk culture, Expo and diversified culture, Expo spirit and urban culture, etc. The international conference is co-organized by Development Research Center of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, Urban Culture Research Center of SHNU, Culture Regeneration Research Society of Canada, and Urban Culture E-research Institute in Institutions of Higher Education in Shanghai. |
