Xinhuanet reported that nearly 10,000 students and working staff of SHNU stayed at the university this summer vacation. Among them, there were 8001 SHNU volunteers working for the Expo, and SHNU working staff who have been providing relevant services to them.

Jiefang Daily reported on its front page on August 4 the story of 56-year-old Wu Zhifang, an representative of logistical personnel of SHNU, who devotes over 15 hours a day serving the volunteers of SHNU.
