China University Seminar on Collaborative Development of Astronomy Held in SHNU

      SHNU: The China University Atronomy Association (preliminary name) has been founded at the conference recently held in SHNU, namely, China University Seminar for Collaborative Development  of Astronomy. The research group includes 5 standing member universities:, Shanghai Normal University, Peking University, Nanjing University, China University of Science and Technology, Beijing Normal University, and Xiamen University.

      SHNU president delivered a welcome speech and extended his wishes to shore up the progress of astronomy disciplines. The 21st century has witnessed burgeoning advances in the astronomic field, meanwhile, a new issue occurs concerning the ways to cultivate science talents and pull together for China's astronomic future.

      At the two-day  meeting, about 20 universities and research institutes assembled for cooperative modes of astronomy studies and for potential global cooperation and assumption of national astronomic programs.
