Pictures Exhibited in SHNU to Celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the Founding of Israel

SHNU: A picture exhibition was held on November 20 to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the Founding of Israel. Jackie Eldan, Israeli Consul General in Shanghai was present at the unveiling ceremony. SHNU Vice President Lu Jianfei presided over the ceremony.
    In his speech, Lu spoke highly of the development and cultural history of Israel, saying it has contributed much to the development of the world civilization as well as to the human progress. He also pointed out that Shanghai had once provided shelter to Israeli refugees, and that friendly communications and cooperation between the two countries had never stopped. 
    After the ceremony, Jackie Eldan delivered a lecture entitled Why Israel Admires China?—On the Cross-cultural Similarities between the Two Countries. Using relevant pictures and diagrams, Mr. Eldan passed on some information and features of culture, society, history, etc. of his country. He also said he was impressed by the positive attitude adopted by SHNU in cooperating with Israeli universities.
