SHNU: February 4th marked the day of donation ceremony from family members of Professor Liu Danzhai and conferring of certificates to his son Liu Tianwei as SHNU part-time professor. It was also attended by SHNU Party Secretary Lu Jianfei, SHNU President Zhang Minxuan, Vice SHNU President Ke Qinfei, and the daughter of Professor Liu Danzhai. Having received the certificates of part-time professors from the SHNU President, Liu Tianwei signed the Memorandum of Donation from Family of Liu Danzhai. Lu Jianfei extended the admiration towards Liu Danzhai, the late artist, and confirmed his unique contributions to the development of SHNU College of Fine Arts, and also thanked the Liu’s kindness of donating the arts work and founding scholarship in SHNU. It is noted that the memorandum includes that Liu Family would earmark RMB 1 million Yuan for naming the Liu Danzhai Scholarship of Chinese traditional painting, presenting as gifts Liu’s drafts work for the 55th Anniversary of SHNU and Shanghai Teachers Monument, and the property rights and publishing rights of some other series paintings. Moreover, SHNU would plan to establish a gallery named after him, found Liu Danzhai Arts Research Society, and print his memorial album, etc. Liu Danzhai (1931-2011), born in Wenzhou City of Zhejiang Province, became SHNU professor in 1985, and his painting featured human figures of classic backgrounds, flowers and birds. Liu’s distinguished talents are shown by incorporating ink pouring and lines drawing to depict the vivid and graceful pictures which are so thought-provoking to attract the eye of the audience. |
