SHNU: The Board of Directors of CI in the University of Botswana (UB) was held in Beijing on the afternoon of December 15 . Lu Jianfei, Secretary of SHNU Party Committee, Professor Fako, new President of UB, and people concerned from the two universities attended the meeting.
Lu pointed out at the meeting that the CI has achieved a lot in terms of textbook development, student recruitment and construction of teaching places. He hoped the attendants could offer valuable advice that would contribute to the sustainable development of CI. Prof. Fako showed great delight in having this opportunity to know the operations of CI, and he said he would spare no effort to support relevant work and promote more communication between the two universities.
Representatives listened to the 2011 work report of CI and examined the running of its financial affairs from December, 2010 to December, 2011. They had a heated discussion on such issues as selecting Chinese director and teachers in 2012, arranging 48 laboratories with phonetic devices to be sent by the Chinese Government and sending 100 Botawanian students to China to take part in a four-week summer camp in 2012, etc.
