SHNU:Themed “Little Migratory Birds Lightens Heart”, the SHNU Program of Volunteers’ Care for Migrant Children was awarded the National Excellent Cultural Achievement Prize, marking the second time that SHNU won this prize.
Since September, 2009, over a hundred SHNU volunteers, in their spare time, have walked into families and schools of migrant children and read aloud interesting stories and other literary works to them, so that these children would feel in a big warm family although they were far away from their parents. This program was guided by professor Wu Nianyang from SHNU College of Education, aiming at promoting healthy development of these migrant kids.
SHNU students have also benefited from these experiences and understood deeper the significance of education.
