SHNU: On November 4th, Rainstorm, name of a Pingtan Opera (storytelling and ballad singing in Suzhou dialect), was staged by Suzhou Pingtan Troupe on SHNU campus.
The three scenes, “the Storm before the Break”, “Tender Visit at Rainy Night”, and “Downpour and Thunder”, were shown by means of talking, kidding, instruments playing and singing. In 2006, Pingtan was listed as one of the first non-material cultural heritage programs, and recognized as the most beautiful voice of China for gentle and clear singing notes.
The opera shortens the distance between the virtuoso artistic ambience and the SHNU audience.
