SHNU: An international symposium on “International Organizations and Educational Development” was held in SHNU from September 20 to 21. Officials from UNESCO, OECD, EU and the World Bank as well as scholars and experts from some Chinese universities and research institutes gathered in SHNU to discuss the theme of “Contributions of Inter-governmental Organizations to World Education Development”.
Yin Jie, Vice director of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, attended the meeting and delivered an opening speech.
SHNU President Zhang Minxuan talked at the symposium. He pointed out that we educators should cultivate a large number of international and professional talents and government functionary through education, participate more in discussing and formulating the criteria and rules of international education, and assume the responsibilities that we are able to and should assume.
Hosted by Center for International and Comparative Education, SHNU, the symposium has attracted the world’s top educational officials and scholars of international organizations.
During the 2-day meeting, the attendees of the symposium analyzed the contributions of the international organizations for which they were working to the development of world education. They also had a heated discussion on “the international organizations’ approaches to promoting education development” and “the tendency of the connection between international organizations and educational development”.
