Major of Chinese Studies Opens in UB with aid of SHNU

        SHNU:On August 8th, the day of a new semester, 20 students started their academic life to learn Chinese studies in the University of Botswana (UB). Aided by the Botswana Confucius Institute, the program would involve students to learn for a period ranging from 4 to 5 years.
        Ever since the founding day of Confucius Institute in Botswana in July, 2009, this program has been effectively advocated by the UB by means of designing the education syllabus and plans. The first batch of students was enrolled this June, and classes were kicked off this August.
       Adopting the credit system, this program includes courses of Chinese languages, history, culture, literature, contemporary development, and Sino-African studies, etc. During the third year of the program, students would study in China for a year, so as to pave the way for future research of Chinese studies. 
       Currently, the Chinese teachers for the program would be selected from SHNU.
