SHNU: On July 9th, the International Academic Seminar of Urbanization Process and Sino-African Urban Culture was held in SHNU. Sponsored by the Development and Research Center of Shanghai Municipal Government, SHNU Urban Culture Center, SHNU African Studies Center, and Botswana University, the seminar involved more than 50 officials and scholars to attend. SHNU Party Secretary Lu Jianfei highlighted the significance of the unique and splendid African culture, and it would reap benefits to take a comparative perspective of Chinese and African culture in the backdrop of global urbanization. The Chinese and African scholars centered around the themes of the urbanization process, practices of urbanization of African cities, urbanization and culture, and urbanization and community, etc. The seminar marked the first time to probe issues of China, African and Sino-African relations. Academic papers were delivered, ensued by heated debates. |
