Distinguished Visiting Professor of SHNU Makes a Report in the CTBTO Conference

SHNU: On the conference of Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO) held several days ago in Vienna, Austria, Dr. Qin Jianye, distinguished visiting professor of SHNU, professor of the University of Toronto, and chief scientist of Canada nuclear test-ban organization, was invited to make a report.

Prof. Qin demonstrated his self-research RTSM technology, which attracted the wide attention of the attendees and provided advanced technological guarantee for inspection of nuclear test-ban in the world. Over 500 ambassadors, government officials and scientists from different countries were present.

During the conference, China’s delegation in Vienna expressed the willingness to further cooperate with Prof. Qin and his team in future.

With 195 member states, CTBTO is an international organization that will be established upon the entry into force of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty, a Convention that outlaws nuclear test explosions. Its seat will be Vienna, Austria. The organization will be tasked with verifying the ban on nuclear tests and will operate therefore a worldwide monitoring system and may conduct on site inspections.
