SHNU: The first batch of 20 public servants of the 1st Chinese Language Class of Confucius Institute (CI) for Botswanian Public Servants wound up in March 3.
Liu Huanxing, Chinese Ambassador to Botswana, and Peter L. Siele, Minister of Labor and Home Affairs of Botswana attended the ceremony and make speeches. Liu congratulated the trainees on their progress and extended special thanks to CI of SHNU for sending its excellent teachers. Minister Peter L. Siele spoke highly of the positive effect of the three-month Chinese Language Class in promoting communication between Chinese and Botswanians. He also hoped that the trainees could offer better service to Chinese in Botswana.
Besides, the 5th round of Chinese Language Class of CI was completed in February 25 while the 6th round was to open on March 8. 126 students from the 5th Chinese Language Class got course-completion certificates and 16 of them passed Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK).
