SHNU: Recently, the award ceremony for the second batch of peripheral research bases of China National Tourism Research Institute was held in Beijing. On behalf of the University, leaders of SHNU College of Tourism attended the ceremony and received the awarding board of the Urban Tourism Research Base of China National Tourism Institute.
In the past years, SHNU College of Tourism has played an active role in urban tourism research, in response to the grand blueprint in which Shanghai will stand out as a renowned tourism metropolitan. In 2009, the China Urban Tourism Development Report (2009) started to be compiled by the college for UNWTO (UN World Tourism Organization) both in Chinese and English version.
The new urban tourism research base marks the approval of the academic achievements SHNU has made in terms of urban touris, . The SHNU Urban Tourism Research Base would be privileged to apply for the scientific programs funded by the China National Tourism Adminsitration, participate in various academic activities and theme conferences, and undertake research missions assigned by China National Tourism Institute.
