SHNU: The 10th Annual Meeting of Shanghai Comparative Literature Association (SCLA) was held in Tongji University on January 15. SHNU scholars including Prof. Sun Jingyao, Prof. Liu Yunhua, and Prof. Song Lihua attended the meeting at the invitation of the organizing committee. Prof. Sun Jingyao presided over the meeting which themed Review and Prospect: Chinese Comparative Literature in the New Century. He also delivered a lecture entitled Interior Exhibition of Versailles Palace which introduced his experience in France. His lecture is thought to have offered a way of studying comparative literature. Most of the scholars in the group discussion with the topic Religious Culture and Literature Exchanges were SHNU teachers and graduate students. Prof. Liu Yunhua, the newly elected Vice Chairman of SCLA, chaired the discussion. The meeting witnesses the academic efforts of SHNU scholars of different age brackets, and displays the strength and potential of comparative literature — the only national key discipline of SHNU. |
