SHNU: Blessed with sufficient sunlight and wind power, the Fengxian campus of SHNU has been equipped with 8 solar energy street lights that can be complemented with wind power. Also, the 42 old-fashioned reflective lights have been upgraded.
With an average daily use of 10 hours, these 8 newly-installed street lights can save 7,304 kilowatt hours within one year (about 365 days). The new reflective lights can save up to 29,200 kilowatt hours in a year.
All of these lights will be in normal operation from January 8, 2011.
