SHNU: The WHO conference on International Classification and Standards for Traditional Medicine was held in Tokyo, Japan and lasted from December the 6th to the 11th.
Professor Li Zhaoguo, Vice Dean of the SHNU Foreign Languages College who was in charge of the translation of National Standard of Traditional Medicine (English version) and Recommended Programs of China，attended the conference as a member of Chinese delegation and one of the specially invited experts by WHO.
Standardization programs and categorizations submitted by participating countries were discussed in the conference. The two translated versions presented by China won approval of majority of the experts. It will therefore serve as the prototype for WHO to draw up the international standard for traditional medicine.
