SHNU: The 2014 winter vacation witnesses about 1, 000 SHNU students to join the social practices, and the theme is Fusing the Wisdom of Youth. During the winter break, almost 60 Loving Care schools and classroom were established and about 30 non-profit services for various institutions were held. 74 programs stood out and won university funds from the 493 of its kind. The Loving Care classrooms brought to local people a sense of protecting the ecological environment, improving the contesting environment and promoting green development by means of theme publicity, special courses and public service, etc. Organized by SHNU School of Education, the Jiahe Loving Care classroom in Qingpu, Shanghai, brought exciting summer camp experience for local students. The Loving Care school organized by SHNU College of Music opened their classes to the disabled, and the same program carried out by SHNU College of Life and Environmental Sciences spread knowledge and love at the China’s southern boundary Xinjiang province. SHNU students also became volunteers at the various subway and railway stations, which strengthened their service skills and enrich their life experience. Moreover, students from SHNU College of Humanities and Communications acted as guide at the Tou-Se-We Museum. In this sense, winter vacation becomes an effective time period for university to develop creative students by way of social practices. |
