SHNU: Dr. William, Vice President of University of Missouri (MU), and Dr. Ouyang, Head of CI (Confucius Institute) cooperated to plan a series of activities to celebrate the Chinese spring festivals with all the teachers and volunteers there. On the eve of spring festival, Dr. Ouyang invited 17 teachers and other staff members at one of the most famous Chinese restaurants in the city of Columbia. All the participants chatted about their work and life and wished for a prosperous new year. A New Year party was held by professors and scholars of MU, and Dr. William even bought moon cakes for Chinese teachers and volunteers who work for CI of UM. Songs were staged and the audience could not help clapping hands and sang in chorus. This enabled everyone to strive for the prosperity and development of increasing demands of Chinese language and cultures overseas and promoting understandings and friendship of both Chinese and American people. |
