SHNU：Sponsored by SHNU China Research Center of Comfort Women and South Korean History Institute of Sung Kyun Kwan University, scholars and Archivists from Beijing, Nanjing, Shanghai, South Korea and Japan assembled in SHNU for the work conference of research on military comfort women on February 8th and 9th. As more and more comfort women victims have passed away for old age, it has become urgent for nations to collect and preserve these historical data. It is agreed that a special website would be created and preparation would be made to apply for world heritage list. More cooperation could be possible among Taiwan, the Philippines and DPRK, etc. The representatives reviewed the current situations of statistics concerning comfort women and probed the surveys and possibilities of international cooperation. The attendants also visited the world’s first site of comfort women for Japanese army (Lane No.125, Dongbaoxing Road, and relic of Japan MARFORCOM (Marine for Command) (No. 2121, Sichuanbei Road) |
