Campus Charity Sale Collects 46,584 yuan for Students in Need

SHNU: The 5th Campus Charity Sale was held simultaneously on Xuhui and Fengxian Campuses on Dec. 18, collecting 46584.4 yuan (US $7,675 ) for SHNU students who suffer serious diseases or students from poor families who are accidentally hurt.
All the articles on sale, a variety of things including articles of daily use, school supplies, souvenirs, etc., are donated by SHNU staff and students. On the special area for charity shows, both Chinese and international students showed their kindness through singing, dancing, painting, computer maintaining, etc. All these highlighted the sale and attracted more people to donate or buy things.
The money collected will be transferred to the account of “Xue Si Grants” to help eligible SHNU students. The unsold articles will be categorized and donated to SHNU Charity Station or Shanghai Charity Foundation to help more students in need.
     Since its establishment in May, 2011, the “Xue Si Grants” has funded 27 SHNU students, the sum totaling 105,000 yuan (US $17298,).
