Inventions of SHNU Alumnus Chou Daomin Reported by Time Magazine

SHNU: The November 25th edition of US Time magazine reports the 25 Best Inventions of the Year. Among one of them is SHNU Alumnus Chou Daomin’s creative works which paves the foundation for a key step in helping the blind to recover eyesight.
As a SHNU graduate in 1983, Dr. Chou joined the invention process as the main researcher in producing Argus Ⅱ bionic eyes, which is the first installation for those blind people who lost eyesight because of retina pigment regeneration. It included implanted artificial retina and a pair of glasses connected with video equipment, which enable the blind to distinguish the shades of lights and image outlines.
This invention ranks the first in category of 5 world-changing inventions.
