SHNU: Just before Chongyang Festival (Double Ninth Festival), SHNU had another 100-year-old retiree Qi Shanzhen. On October 9th, SHNU Party Secretary Lu Jianfei led a visiting group to Guoqing Temple at Tiantai, Zhejiang Province for congratulations on his 100th birthday.
“Today is your birthday, and good wishes to your health and happy family”, Lu gave his greetings to the old retiree of SHNU. The retired staff Qi said, “Although I left SHNU over 30 years ago, I still care for the university and I wish all the best for the school’s development.”
Qi started his work in the school cafeteria since the early years of the founding of SHNU. He worked until he was seventy years old and won credits for his outstanding cooking skills. After that, he has been living in Guoqing Temple to manage the veggie foods there.
