14 Mar 2013

The graduation thesis defence for 2009 grade students majoring Chinese Language and Literature in Payap University was held in Thailand by the International College of Chinese Studies of SHNU on March 8th.

The defence group consisted of two college teachers from the International College of Chinese Studies, and the Dean of the Chinese Language and Literature Department of Payap University. During the defence, the students were able to state the main content of their papers without text and answer the questions that the teachers asked on the spot. Owing to students’ adequate preparation, the defence was very successfully conducted, and all the 14 students were passed. The performance of the students was also admitted by the other teachers from the Chinese Language and Literature Department, who also attended the defence.

SHNU and Payap University together launched the “1+2+1”joint training and cooperation project on Chinese Language and Literature in 2009. The 14 students are the first to graduates since the project began, and the defence was also the first one that was held abroad. According to regulations concerned, students who were involved in this project would have an opportunity to get degrees and diplomas both from SHNU and Payap University. (Translated by Xia Tian)
