Recently, the “Regional and National Research (Training) Base” of the Ministry of Education, African Studies Centre of SHNU, has officially published the first issue of African Economic Review which is China’s first publication that takes African economy as the main subject of study. African Economic Review now is edited by the Director of the African studies center Professor ShuYunguo and Deputy Director of the center Professor Zhang Zhongxiang. The first issue of African Economic Review collects the latest research results about African economic organizations, African integration and China-Africa trade and economic cooperation, etc. by doctors and Masters from African Studies Centre. The book consists of 280 thousand words, and Professor ShuYunguo, the Center’s Director, wrote a foreword for the book. African Studies Center founded in 1998 was one of the organizations that were early-established and recognized by Ministry of Education. It was listed as the “Regional and National Research (Training) Base” in December, 2011. And the Center is the main co-organizers of exchange activities between University of Botswana and SHNU and the co-operator of “China-Africa joint research and exchange program” with the Foreign Ministry of China. The publishing of African Economic Review, on the one hand, meets the demand of the Ministry of Education to strength the connotation construction of “the Regional and National Research (Training) Base”. On the other hand, it maintains and strengths the Centers feature of taking the economy of Africa as the study subject.(Translated by Xia Tian) |
