Professor Mei Zihan’s Work Awarded 2012 Bing Xin Prize for Children’s Literature

       SHNU: 2012 Bing Xin Prize for Children’s Literature was awarded recently. Childhood Books: Children’s Literature in Picture-Story Books by Mei Zihan, SHNU Professor from College of Humanities and Communications, won the prize.

     The book Childhood Books: Children’s Literature in Picture-Story Books is the re-interpretation and reclassification about world classic picture books. Mei Zihan, both a writer and a professor in the field of children’s literature, presents his subtle and incisive interpretation on world classic picture-story books. To adults, his book offers joy of reading and profound understanding while, to children, it bridges the short and precious childhood with the finest and greatest books of story picture..

     Bing Xin Prize for Children’s Literature is known for its strictness, justice and authoritativeness. It is the only prize for Chinese children’s literature writers and accounts for one of the highest honors in China Children Press. (Translated by Shao Suya)
