SHNU: On October 17th, SHNU senior professor Feng Jiqing cooperated with musicians of Shanghai Baroque Chamber Orchestra to host for the students a seminar, entitled Lecture Concert of Pure and Elegant Baroque Music World. The speech was ensued with the virtuoso performances from the 11 artists of the orchestra, especially the rarely-seen harpsichord clavichord which attracted the attention of the audience. This grand piano was then presented for free use to SHNU after being played by Thomas Folan, the famous American conductor. The audiences’ eyes and ears were riveted on the talk that lasted 2 hours and 15 minutes. It is said by the students that this could be a lifelike classroom of music history, and a mental feast that brought us closer to the arts of Baroque. This is also held to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the founding of SHNU College of Music. |
