SHNU: The Seminar on the Internationalization of Basic Education in China and Europe was held in SHNU on October 16. Arto Haapea, Deputy Consul-General of the Embassy of the Republic of Finland in Shanghai, Josef Zeimentz, person in charge of the German Teachers’ Union, relevant people of SHNU and over 100 Chinese and European teachers were present at the serial activities.
In recent years, the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) has been playing a significant role in promoting basic education, especially a balanced and remarkable compulsory education. Though Finland and Shanghai have done a good job in this field, Germany has made a rapid progress despite its poor performance before.
Jorma Kalevi Lempinen, life-long Honorary President of the Middle and Primary School Principal Federation of Finnland, made a report entitled Way to Success of Finnish Education: how to construct a fair and excellent school education system.
During the meeting, guests from Europe visited the Research Center of Chinese Comfort Women of SHNU and the Specimen Museum of SHNU College of Life and Environmental Sciences.
