SHNU: On October 16, the celebration ceremony for the 58th founding anniversary of SHNU was held on Xuhui campus. The grand meeting also trigger the preparation for the 60th anniversary of the university.
Chu Junhao, SHNU alumni and academician from Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Officials from Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, most of SHNU leaders, and representatives of SHNU teachers and students were present at the ceremony.
SHNU Party Secretary Lu Jianfei extended warm welcome to the attendants and expressed gratitude for all of those who have contributed to the development of the university during the 58 years. He also pointed out that the preparation for the 60th anniversary should be low-carbon and environment-friendly.
SHNU President Zhang Minxuan made a speech on teachers’ professional development (TPD) and talent cultivation. “As talents are the first resources for the university development, SHNU’s emphasis on TPD will forcefully promote the quality of its faculty”, Zhang said.
Li Junxiu, SHNU alumnus and Deputy Director of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, extended congratulations to his Alma Mater, and highly praised the university’s achievement through 58 years and gave expectations to SHNU on behalf of SMEC.
Following the speeches, Li Jinxiu, Lu Jianfei and Zhang Minxuan unveiled the plaque for Teacher Professional Center. SHNU Party Committee Member Zhang Guofeng announced the SHNU 2012-2015 Culture Construction Plan and SHNU Vice President Ke Qinfei made a brief introduction of the preparatory and donation work and for the 60th anniversary of the university.
Representatives of SHNU alumni, teachers and students also spoke at the ceremony.
