SHNU: The 2012 Academic Forum of Postgraduate of Shanghai, with “Urban Culture and Intelligent City Construction” as its theme, was held in SHNU on October 12.
Over 200 postgraduates from 19 universities of Shanghai, including Shanghai Jiaotong University and East China Normal University, attended the forum which was sponsored by Office of Shanghai Academic Degree Committee and undertaken by the SHNU Department of Graduate Student Affairs and College of Life and Environmental Sciences.
SHNU Party Secretary Lu Jianfei expressed gratitude for the long-term support by Office of Shanghai Academic Degree Committee, and encouraged the postgraduates to avail themselves of every opportunity to improve their professional study and comprehensive quality by communicating with others and focusing on the latest academic publications. SHNU Vice President Cong Yuhao said that the forum highlighted the social influence of the disciplines of SHNU, such as urban culture, Biology, Chemistry and Environmental Sciences.
The forum specially invited 3 famous professors from Fudan University, Shanghai University and SHNU. They lectured on such topics as “Adaptable Survival and Sustainable Development", “Public Security and Health Guarantee of Intelligent City” and “Urban Development of Shanghai”. After that, postgraduates read their papers and professors made enlightening comments on their work.
The forum has been held for 5 times in SHNU in recent years. This year, the forum received 238 academic papers and will last for 6 months.
