The 17th Symposium of Modern Chinese Grammar Held in SHNU

SHNU: The 17th Symposium of Modern Chinese Grammar, co-sponsored by SHNU and Language Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, is in progress in SHNU.

The symposium began on October 13 and will finish on October 17. SHNU President Zhang Minxuan and Zhang Bin, a leading figure in the academic society, spoke at the symposium.

80 scholars from home and abroad discussed “Chinese Nouns (Noun Phrases) and their Relevant Category and Chinese Function Words” on the symposium which was initiated in 1981 and ranks the highest level in the grammatical society in China.

Papers of the symposium will be selected and compiled into a book entitled Grammar Research Exploration (No. 17) to be published by Commercial Press.
