SHNU: The photo exhibition of well-known educationist Chen Heqin, father of Chinese early education, opened on Fengxian Campus on October 10. SHNU Party Secretary Lu Jianfei and relevant staff from Soong Chingling Cemetery and Research Society of Chen Heqin Educational Thoughts unveiled the exhibition.
In his opening speech, Lu said we should learn from Mr. Chen’s flexible education concepts, innocent and noble feelings and truth-seeking scientific spirit. As a normal university, SHNU will go on devoting to teacher education,, developing its own features and building up it own prestige..
Qin Gang, director of Administrative Office of Soong Chingling Cemetery, introduced the life of Chen and the photo exhibition which marks the 120th anniversary of Chen’s birth. The exhibition mirrors Chen’s whole life that is dedicated to early education by seeking a scientific education path with Chinese characteristics.
Over 60 teacher and student representatives of SHNU attended the ceremony. Chen Yixin, son of Chen Heqin, donated books to SHNU Library at the ceremony.
The exhibition will be moved to Xuhui campus in two weeks.
