12 Sep 2012

SHNU: The other day, invited by Mr. Man Kin Ping (Jack Man), Music Director of Hong Kong Kwan Sing Choir, alumnus and visiting professor of SHNU, teachers and students from SHNU Music College held a “Shanghai Night Classic Old Songs Concert” in Hong Kong’s City Hall Theater.

Classic Shanghai old songs as Cutie, The Song of Mei Niang, Spring Impress, The Wind of May, and Shangri-la were performed emotionally. Famous Hong Kong musician Ms. Barbara Fei was invited as a guest who explained the background and connotation of these songs. She said there were profound emotions in Shanghai classic old songs which were really unforgettable, and that as a Shanghainese she had profound love for these songs.

What’s worth mentioning is that the art director of this concert, Prof. Zhu Baojing, is at his ripe old age of 85. But for the success of this concert, he spared no efforts to offer help and guidance to the students and teachers in the art troupe.
