SHNU: On the evening of June 13th, “Ode to Education”, a performance in memory of Mr. Liao Shicheng’s 120th birthday, was held on Xuhui Campus. Mr. Liao’s family members, officials from Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, SHNU authorities including Jianfei, Zhang Minxuan, Mao Dingwen, Ke Qinfei, teacher and student representatives and other guests watched the performance.
In the opening speech, SHNU Party Secretary Lu Jianfei said that Mr. Liao Shicheng was a famous educational psychologist in China, and as the first president of Shanghai Teachers College, he made great contributions to the development of the university.
The performance included three parts: review, time and memory. The professional ethics of teachers in different ages were highly praised by means of artistic form to show SHNU spirit and eternity of teacher morality.
In the years to come, SHNU will carry on Liao’s education concepts to cultivate eminent teachers who can meet the need of the basic education in Shanghai and in the whole country.
