SHNU: Students from College of Civil Engineering Won 9 Awards in National University BIM Competitio

    Final of the 3rd national university 'Thsware Cup' BIM Competition was held in Shen Zhen from May 5 to May 13. Two teams from the College of Civil Engineering won altogether 9 awards, five second prizes and four third prizes. The two teams did an extraordinary job in 'Project Management Special Competition' and ranked fifth and sixth respectively among all 100 plus teams.
    It's the first time for SHNU to enter for the competition. Through hard work and meticulous training, two teams from the College of Civil Engineering performed well in the preliminary and won the chance for the final in Shen Zhen on behalf of SHNU. Altogether there are thirteen team members, one team leader and five faculty advisers.
    'THsware Cup' BIM Competition for universities nationwide is hosted by China Construction Education Association and undertaken by Qinghua Thsware Science and Technology Corporation. Altogether 157 Teams from Qinghua University, Tongji University, Chongqing University, Xiamen University etc. entered for the competition.
    The competition is based on the model of building informationwith three team members working together, making decisions and eventually finishing the assigned task. The score is given in accordance with the result of the on-the-spot rivalry between teams.
    The gist of the competition is to enhance students' practical and innovation abilities and highlight their team spirit, and thus cultivate applied innovative talents in accord with the requirements of national development and to integrate with social practicality.(Translated by Wu Chunchun)
