From May 11th to May 13th, SHNU authorities, led by Prof. Lu Jianfei, visited the University of Luxemburg, the Emersion Secondary School in Luxemburg City, the Chinese Language and Culture Centre and some other educational institutions in that city. A cordial and pragmatic meeting was held for the exchanges and cooperation between the relevant institutions in Luxemburg and SHNU. Mr. Zeng Xianqi, the Chinese Ambassador to Luxembourg, warmly welcomed the guests of our university at the embassy. Prof. Lu Jianfei also appreciated his cordial reception, and briefly introduced SHNU and the main purpose of this visit to Luxemburg. Ambassador Zeng highly praised the achievements our university acquired in the field of international exchanges and cooperation, and said that he would actively support the establishment of the Confucius Institute in Luxemburg and other exchange programs. In the meeting with the former Executive Vice President and the Director of International Exchange Division of the University of Luxembourg, both sides respectively introduced their universities and looked forward to the establishment of the substantive projects of the teacher-student exchanges and cooperation in scientific researches, and further contact and communication for the development of the Confucius Institute project were successfully maintained. Before the visit to Luxembourg, the delegation also visited the University of Stockholm, Sweden, the University of Oslo, Norway, and the University of Copenhagen in Denmark as well as the North Central University of Technology in Finland. Formal talks were held with the Principal and the Director of International Exchange Division of the North Central University of Technology in Finland. Both sides hope that the two universities could not only carry out the existing cooperation projects but also actively expand cooperation areas and endeavour to establish new projects in business management and tourism management. |
