Under the cooperation of the Hebei STV and the China Book Business Report, the grand TV ceremony of “2012 Reading Festival” was held days ago. The awards as the “Annual Influential Book”, the “Annual Influential Figure of Book Trade” and the “Annual Influential Bookstore” were announced during the ceremony. Professor Mei Zihanfrom the College of Humanities and Communications of SHNUreceived the honor of the “Annual Influential Figure of Book Trade”. At the same time, the book series with Prof. Mei as the chief editor also got the “Annual Influential Book” award. As the only guest to have received two awards, Prof. Mei was invited to the ceremony that night. He shared with the audience his own writing and reading experience which provides a good model for the promotion of reading. Over the last 10 decades, Prof. Mei has been committed to the promotion of reading among children and tried his best to help Chinese children exposed to the best children’s literature. Thus, he has earned himself the title, “Lamplighter for Reading among Children ”, and the title, “First Promoter of Reading among Children in China”. (Translated by Yangweiye) |
