Tenth Anniversary of University Museum—Scholars discuss urban civilization

      SHNU: On May 4th, a seminar on the celebration of the tenth anniversary of the university museum was held in SHNU, discussing topics on university museums and urban civilization. The seminar was hosted by the Publicity Department, the University Museum Department, Union of University Museums in Shanghai and SHNU Humanities and Communications College . More than 40 representatives attended the seminar, including those from 11 university museums of Shanghai, from Qian Xuesen Museum of JiaoTong University and from such universities as Peking University, Suzhou University andWenzhou University. 

      The theme of the seminar is “University museums contributing to urban civilization development”. More than 20 academic papers have been received, the content of which involves scientific research of university museums, education and publicity, exhibition design, cultural construction and establishment of a digital museum. Professor Song Xiangguang from Peking University and many other renowned experts delivered brilliant academic reports during the seminar. 

     This seminar is of the largest scale, the most influential, and participated by the highest number of institutions. 

     Being one of the museums of national culture, SHNU museum has been open free to the public since May 18th, 2002, and receives thousands of visitors inside and outside the campus every year. (Translated by Baiyuan)
