SHNU: Recently, the list of 2015 Shanghai Distinguished Professors (Oriental Scholars) was released. Gao Daozhou from SHNU College of Mathematics and Mechanical Engineering has become the Distinguished Professor, and Qian Xudong from SHNU College of Civil Engineering has won the title of Lecture Professor. Moreover, Tian Qiwei from SHNU College of Life and Environmental Sciences has become one of the first batch of candidates of Young Oriental Scholars for universities in Shanghai.
Started in 2007, the Oriental Scholars Program mainly introduces high-end middle-aged and young academic leaders and their teams from overseas into universities in Shanghai. The program supports three kinds of talents: Distinguished Professors, Lecture Professors and Professors of Follow-up Planning.
So far, the number of Oriental Scholars in SHNU has amounted to 20, including 14 Distinguished Professors, 5 Lecture Professors, and 1 Young Oriental Scholar.
